The top seeds sweep the first round of the WNBA playoffs and advance to the semi-finals. The #4 Las Vegas Aces will face the #1 New York Liberty on one side and then the #2 Minnesota Lynx will take on the #3 Connecticut Sun on the other. Both these series begin on Sun, Sept. 29. Twila Kilgore resigned from her position of assistant coach for the US Women's National Team earlier this week. She was the interim coach between Vlatko Andonovski's August 2023 resignation and Emma Hayes's May 2024 arrival. She is moving on to pursue another coaching opportunity.

Thanks to footage from Simone Bile's Netflix show, Jordan Chiles might see her bronze medal reinstated. She submitted an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport’s decision to strip her of the medal with the Swiss Federal Tribunal on Monday. The earlier decision claimed the USA coach submitted the injury inquiry 4 seconds too late.
