The WNBA regular season kicks off tomorrow and notably missing are so many drafted players and even returns (gasp!). Key waives (that we know of so far) include: Diamond DeShields (waived by Connecticut Sun), Haley Jones (waived by Atlanta Dream), Laeticia Amihere (waived by the Golden State Valkyries), Kaitlyn Chen (waived by the Golden State Valkyries), Deja Kelly (waived by the Las Vegas Aces), Serena Sundell (waived by the Seattle Storm), Mackenzie Holmes (waived by the Seattle Storm), Shyanne Sellers (waived by the Atlanta Dream), and the list goes on here. Can we get some more teams so that we can see all the best talent play, please?!
FIFA president Gianni Infantino shared this week that the organization is targeting $1 billion in revenue for the 2027 Women's World Cup. 2023 hosts Australia and New Zealand brought in upwards of $570 million in revenue.
