WNBA playoffs are in full swing! The #2 Minnesota Lynx and the #3 Connecticut Sun are tied 1-1 and the #1 New York Liberty are up 2-0 on the #4 Las Vegas Aces. The next games are tomorrow at 7:30pm ET and 9:30pm ET, respectively. In other news, Caitlin Clark’s final 2024 playoff match was the most watched WNBA game on cable, ever (averaging 2.5M viewers and peaking at 3.4M). In other rookie news Angel Reese graced the cover of Business of Fashion last week. On and off the court, she is simply on point!
On Tuesday the NWSL's Houston Dash have parted ways with their head coach Fran Alonso. In other international soccer news Alexandra Popp announced her retirement. At 33 years old she has been a mainstay on the Germany national team for years - the program's third all-time leading scorer.
Earlier this week LOVB announced the construction of a new 66K-square-foot volleyball training center in Gretna Landing, Nebraska. This center will be for the club team Premier Nebraska and its LOVB Pro Omaha franchise. It's expected to open in 2025 - more details here.
