There are so many things happening in women's sports this week but I'm going to stick with just soccer for this post and I'll keep it brief.

We have our first #1 upset in the 2023 NCAA Women's Soccer bracket. Unranked UC Irvine took down #1 UCLA in the first round of the bracket. This is ripe for a cindarella story! Follow along the bracket here.

The 2023 NWSL season came to a close over the weekend with NY/NJ Gotham besting Seattle's OL Reign 2-1 for the championship. Ali Krieger (Gotham FC) retired in fashion with a championship to her name. Megan Rapinoe (OL Reign) tore her acchilles in the 6th minute of the game, a big loss for the team and fans alike. Big congrats to Gotham on a fantastic year - this was a team that was ranked LAST in the 2022. What an accomplishment. More details here.
