Thu, Jan 25 - NCAA Women's basketball, NWSL expansion, Australian Open

The 2024 NCAA Women's basketball season is already breaking so many records! A couple this week include: 1. Tara VanDerveer of Stanford became the winningest coach in NCAA basketball history with 1,023 wins after the Cardinals beat Oregon State 65-56 over the weekend. 2. #18 Ohio State's win over #2 Iowa (100-92) averaged 1.92M viewers, the most regular-season women's game watched since 2010 (reference here). Just WOW.

On Jan 17th NWSL commissioner announced the beginning of the process of adding a 16th city to the NWSL in 2026. No word yet on what city but expansion is exciting! More details here.
