On Friday, December 2nd 32 University of Oregon athletes (26 beach volleyball players and 6 rowers) filed a Title IX lawsuit against the University of Oregon. These athletes are claiming that the University's distribution of NIL deals between men and woman are unequal and are a potential Title IX violation. This lawsuit could prove to be groundbreaking as it informs a precendent of how and if NIL deals are subject to Title IX. More details here.

Florida State won the 2023 NCAA Women's National Championship on Monday, December 4th. Florida State beat Stanford 5-1 to punctuate their undefeated season and claim their 4th national title since 2014. More info on the game match here.

The US Women's soccer team notched two wins over China in the last week (3-0 on Dec 3rd and 2-1 on Dec 5th) as they prepare to compete for a chance at the olympics. Meanwhile, across the pond, both the England Lionesses (2023 World Cup Finalists!) and the Sweden (silver medalists at the last two olympics) are left out of the 12-squad competition. Shocking!
