Thu, Dec 21 - NWSL Expansion draft, WNBA 2024 schedule, NCAA Volleyball Champ

On Friday Dec 15th the NWSL held their Expansion draft for new clubs Bay Area FC and the (re-joining) Utah Royals. A full list of the players can be found here. Plenty of controversy in terms of impact on players was voiced throughout the process. Most notably Alex Morgan shared that the expansion draft "should not exist."

Earlier this week the WNBA released their 2024 schedule. Full details here - mark your calendars! Of note is that the in-season Commissioners Cup will take place over a more concentrated two week period (previously it was spread across the first half of the season) with each team playing 5 play-in games (compared to 10).

NCAA Women's Volleyball season wraps up with the returning champs Texas winning once again! They swept Nebraska 25–22, 25–14, 25–11. The match was a show-stopper and broke indoor-volleyball attendance records. More details here.
